Our Changing Earth: Why Climate Change Matters to Young People

As the days go by, the Earth is getting warmer. The polar ice is melting and the sea is rising. Climate change is a serious threat that must be addressed in the next few years before emissions spiral out of control. As the youth of today, we need to get involved to control our fate before we inherit the Earth.
The first step to getting involved is becoming aware of the effects of climate change. This detailed and accessible primer (published in 2019) on climate change intends to explain the implications of climate change to youth, and promote awareness of the issue from the perspective of teenager. It specifically explores:
  • How worldwide emissions of greenhouse gases significantly warm our planet
  • How big businesses disrupt governmental regulation of the environment through lobbying
  • Impending effects of climate change on our Earth (rising temperatures, rising sea levels, ocean acidification, extreme events)
  • Implications of climate change on human health (heat stress, air pollution, water-borne and vector-borne illnesses)
Our Changing Earth: Why Climate Change Matters to Young People analyzes every angle of climate change and hopes to help the youth recognize the dangers of climate change. This book also intends to leave a lasting impression on those who currently have the power to execute climate policy.
